WELCOME!

Welcome to Primal Minds' Guidebook! This guidebook is one of the most important things that you will read on this entire site. It will give you the low-down of how we run things here, and it should help simplify everything for you! If you look to the left of this little box of information, you will find the links with all of our site information! If you click those links, it will bring you to the information of your desire!

I will be staying here the whole time, so if you need to take another look (or just want to) feel free to!

We would like to note that you DO NOT need to read all of the information! The links under the name "Needed" are what are most important when looking throughout the site! That area will have all the information that you require to register your character! Once you click that link, below this box all of the information will appear!

Once you complete your reading and you still have questions, please look to our FAQ or PM a staff member with your questions!!!

Happy reading!

Character Creation

Name, Personality, and Appearance

The easiest thing to start with is creating a name for your character. When registering, you only need a first name. A last name can be added on the app later if you'd like your character to have one. Having trouble picking a name for your character? Look on sites like Nameberry or Babble.

Determining a personality for your character may very well be the hardest thing to do. We require that your personality have at least 5 sentences in it. Need ideas? Good ways of doing this is by going into depth about their demeanor, traits, what they like, what they dislike, why they're how they are, what their views on things are? Do they like kids? And etc. For alignment, please look at this guide.

For appearance, your character's appearance should correlate to it's breed, which can be found here). Eye colors can be anything but white or black, and unless your character is blind, they must have visible pupils. All of this is due to the fact that we are a fantasy wolf site. Please mention somewhere in the appearance section what build your character is. You can find a list of builds further down this page.

Some pattern ideas for your character's fur can include; piebald, rosettes, socks, siamese markings, points, etc. Come up with your own and make your character unique! Colors like brown, black, white, cream, tawny, silver, grey, onyx, maltese, ice, etc are acceptable as well as pink, purple, blue, and green. Try not to have your character have an overpowering amount of bright colors like pink and bright purple together. Though it's 100% okay if you do have them like that! Please attempt to have the colors correlate to their breed though!

Remember, you are required to have at least 5 sentences in the personality and appearance section!

Aging, Gender, and Sexuality

When it comes to age, Primal Minds has a .50 scale increase for each season that goes by in the lands of Otech. That means for each season, you give your character .50 increase on their age. By two seasons, they should have increased their age by at least one year. That way, it is very simple and easy to follow as the seasons change. Characters can only live to be up to 25 years of age. After that, they die naturally of old age.

All characters are allowed to have their own gender preference. They may be transgender, male, female, be male but consider themselves female and vice versa. We do not tolerate OC discrimination against this. Males may breed with males and vice versa with females. However, they may not have children unless gifted to them or they adopt them. We do not tolerate meanness towards a RPer for the gender and sexuality of their character.

Sexuality may not be a comfortable topic for everyone, but here on Primal Minds we allow all characters to be whatever sexuality they prefer on site.

When creating your character, they may be as young as .50 years old. However, if two characters mate and there are babes up for adoption, you may bring one that is newborn (or 0 years of age). .50 is due to our aging system which you can find here

Body Builds

Lanky Thin and tall. These creatures usually look like they are very young even though they really aren't (sometimes they even look sickly). Usually the lightest and the tallest of their species.
Slender Small and fast. These creatures aren't yet balanced out, but are faster than they are stronger, but not by much. They typically tend to be on the lean side and can run far distances without stopping.
Average Even in strength and speed. The middle of the road, these creatures are evenly spaced in speed and strength. This is the idea body size for those that want to excel in both.
Fit Slightly better in strength than speed. These are starting to get heavier and have far more muscle mass than the previous three. These creatures are stronger than speed, but just barely.
Heavy Much more stronger than speed. These are the heaviest of the creatures and tend to not be able to run very far at all. They depend on their strength than speed.

For more on your characters weight (for example what weight they should be for what build) please go to the breeds guide and click on the spoilers for each breed.

Health & Extras

There are four types of health: Healthy, decent, sick, premature death. Each character comes to the site with the health status decent. Once they've joined a tribe, then their health is bumped up to Healthy.

Healthy You're in tip-top shape! You have food, a roof over your head. Life's perfect and you haven't even had a fight lately! You should be fine on your own.
Decent You have a few bruises here and there, maybe a scratch. However you may be missing parts of your body, so that sucks. You're still able to get plenty of food though, so that's a plus!
Sick You've been in a fight lately, or you caught a cold or disease (i.e. cancer). If you're not careful you could die from this. You're definitely in no shape to hunt but you can just barely take care of yourself.
Premature Death You need to get help immediately. You must have gotten into one nasty fight or fall because you're almost dead. Another day or two like this and you're a goner for sure.
Your character can come to the site with one jewelry! That means that each character you create has one slot for a piece of jewelry. It can be a necklace, bracelet, bandana, ring, or ear/nose/brow ring. You can buy more after your character is accepted in the shop! They can find these items anywhere in the lands, or they can come to the lands with these jewels. Make sure to state in your character's appearance what jewelry they have, if any.

Magic and Levels

When you first create your character, your character can have ONE magical power and starts at level 1. That also means that your character starts out with 100 mana. As you roleplay, you should keep a log in your character page with how much experience they have, how many times they have practiced a spell, and how much mana they can get once they apply for a mana increase. Don't ask staff to track these things for you, as they are your responsibility.

Please note that once you fill out the profile, you must post to the character pages with the template provided there to get accepted ^^
